Crystal Mountain’s Philosophy about Faculty |

The massage therapy school faculty at Crystal Mountain is rather large because we have a number of Massage Therapy School Faculty Members who come in to teach only specific segments in the program so that each instructor is an expert in what they’re teaching. This allows students to learn from many different perspectives on massage, and to pick and choose the approaches that most resonate with them.
We believe that our massage therapy school faculty and our students can learn from each other, and that everyone has information to share and to teach. Because of this philosophy, Crystal Mountain functions as a community where the massage therapy school faculty, staff, and students are constantly growing together.
One of the things that’s special about Crystal Mountain is that each student is assigned a massage therapy school faculty advisor who works specifically with him or her throughout the program. The massage therapy school faculty advisor receives massages from the student at regular points in the program and provides detailed feedback to the student about their massage technique. The massage therapy school faculty advisor is also available throughout the program if the student has questions related to their education or needs to talk about things that are coming up in their private life during massage school.
As a group the massage therapy school faculty works together to make the curriculum coherent so that each student gets a foundation of skills they can build on for the rest of their life. To this end the massage therapy school faculty meets monthly to discuss how we’re doing and to fine tune our teaching for each student class. We believe that our mission is to support each student in becoming a unique and successful massage therapist.
