You may be concerned about whether you’ll be able to find a massage therapy job when you get out of school. You can feel confident that Crystal Mountain has a wonderful reputation among spas, medical clinics, and other types of clinics in Albuquerque and throughout the state of New Mexico. Many massage therapy job providers in this area will actually hire Crystal Mountain graduates right out of the program rather than requiring one or two years of experience before considering them for employment. The school also maintains connections with many of the massage therapy job providers in the city and keeps them posted when we have people coming out who will be looking for employment. Massage therapy job providers also call us whenever they’re looking for a new therapist and ask us to refer graduates we think would fit well into their organization. So, we’re able to assist graduates with suggestions and referrals when they’re looking for a massage therapy job.
It’s also important to note that students at Crystal Mountain receive extensive business education, including how to look for a massage therapy job, and how to build a private practice. So, the school’s graduates are well prepared for an efficient and successful massge therapy job search when they get out of school, or for opening up their own businesses.
That said, Crystal Mountain can’t guarantee employment for graduates because we don’t have a massage therapy job placement service, even though we do maintain a bulletin board where we post announcements about businesses that are looking for massage therapists. We also frequently receive and forward email announcements about massage therapy job postings to our graduates.

There are many types of massage therapy job opportunities for graduates to begin practicing in different settings. For example, New Mexico has many spas that are always looking for new massage therapists. Our state also has many chiropractors and acupuncturists who have massage therapy jobs for LMT’s to work in their offices, and there’s always the option of joining an established massage therapy clinic that’s already operating. We also have several health club chains that hire and work with massage therapists. Occasionally our graduates decide to find massage therapy jobs on cruise ships, or to provide in-room massage at major hotels.
Crystal Mountain also provides a limited number of massage therapy jobs for students who do excellent work and have completed our program to continue working at Crystal Mountain’s clinic as independent contractors. They see Crystal Mountain clients and earn a percentage of the fee that their clients pay for each appointment.
Many of our graduates prefer to open their own businesses instead of getting a massage therapy job. When they leave school they look for private offices to use by themselves or to share with other therapists.

Many people who attend Crystal Mountain, whether they’re in the day or night program, need or want to work while they’re in school. Finding a temporary job can feel intimidating, particularly if you’ve just relocated to Albuquerque and aren’t yet familiar with the city.
Crystal Mountain does not have a dedicated job placement service to help students find temporary jobs. However, our staff is available to meet with you to discuss your temporary employment needs, provide recommendations and support, and to give you suggestions for how to locate the type of job you’re looking for within Albuquerque.
Also, Crystal Mountain has a number of work-study positions available to help students pay for their tuition. Speak with a member of our staff to get more information about work-study opportunities.
